Founded in 2021 and incorporated as not-for-profit in 2024, Pinch Arts Company is dedicated to uplifting artists and connecting communities. Our board of directors is steering the future of our vibrant local arts organization, in close collaboration with founder and director Ben Gorodetsky (he/they). Ben is a performance maker, writer, and producer based in Kitchener, Ontario. They’re the creator and former host of Edmonton’s experimental variety show Dirt Buffet Cabaret, and former technical engineer at NYC burlesque theatre Duane Park. His performance work has been presented by The Art Gallery of Ontario, CAFKA, Movement Research at Judson Church, The Tank NYC, Mile Zero Dance, Brian Webb Dance Company, Expanse Festival of Movement Arts, Rubaboo Festival, Guelph Dance Festival, SpringWorks, and the Gas Station Arts Centre. Ben is the former Associate Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre and has performed, taught, and directed improvisation in Atlanta, Detroit, Austin, Philadelphia, NYC, LA, Reunion Island, Vienna, Ljubljana, Montreal, Toronto, Yellowknife, Calgary, and Vancouver. They are co-creator of political satire comedy duo Folk Lordz (VICE). Ben is the winner of the 2016 Emerging Artist Award at the Mayor's Celebration for the Arts (Edmonton) and a nominee for a Canadian Comedy Award. He teaches at UWaterloo and holds a BFA from the University of Alberta and an MFA from Brooklyn College-CUNY.
